One of the most impressionable ski events of the year not to be missed, the annual torch light parade down the slopes of volcano Osorno at night. Snowboarder and skiers unite as the sun sets the event kicks off usually 18:00 to 20:00. This years event took place on the 15'th of July, watch the facebook page of Volcan Osorno for more details.

The volcano ski resort come to life with this fire and ice event!

The first leg of the ski slope is open and once you reach the bottom your are greeted with a welcome cup of hot chocolate. For those not so adventurous you can watch from in side the warm restaurant. You will need to bring your own gear, or rent from with in the town of Puerto Varas the day before there are a few shops in town. This event also take place at the hight of the ski season, make sure you do bring snow chains for your vehicle.

If you are looking to plan a skiing holiday to the Los Lagos region this is one festival you should seriously consider.

For those who miss the event the ski center has two chairlifts, three drag lifts, 12 slopes of varying levels and a season that lasts until October. On a clear day you can see the Pacific Ocean. Another  perk of volcano ski center is the snowshoe excursions to the volcano's crater. Making it a magical experience any time it's open.
