Our favorite place in Chile!

My boyfriend and I stayed at Cabañas Bordemundo for 4 days last month. The property is incredible -- views of the lake and the volcano, lots of open grassy areas, and even peacocks! The cabins are fully stocked with kitchen supplies and necessities, which was nice because we ate either lunch or dinner there almost every day. Every night when we got home, Javiera had lit the fire in the chimney for us, so it was super warm and cozy in the cabin even though it was cold outside. On our last day, we had to leave in the wee hours of the morning to catch a plane to Puerto Montt, so we didn't get to have Javiera's incredible breakfast (eggs from her chickens, homemade bread, homemade pastries, fresh squeezed apple juice from her apple trees, etc.), but Javiera still left us a basket with some bread and eggs the night before. To top it all off, since we left on Easter day, she surprised us with little chocolate eggs at the bottom of the basket! So cute! We ate them all on the plane ride back to Santiago. Make sure you take a stroll down the path that leads to the lake -- Javiera told us that her dad carved out the trail (including the dirt stairs!) all by himself many years ago.
